There are several reasons to breed a Pokemon in each installment, whether players are looking for optimal stats or trying to get an elusive Shiny Pokemon. For Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players to breed Pokemon, they must have a male and female from the same egg group. They then have to initiate a picnic with both Pokemon, and wait for an egg to appear in the Picnic Basket. After this, players will need to walk around the open world until the egg hatches. This Pokemon egg hatched just in time for a Marill to provide an adorable interaction.
Reddit user One_Youth9079 recently shared a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet clip in which their Fuecoco egg hatches. The player is riding around the open world on their Miraidon as the screen shifts to focus on a hatching egg. A nearby Marill immediately runs over to the egg as the hatching animation begins, eagerly watching it from mere inches away. The egg disappears to reveal the ninth-gen starter Pokemon and as the text box explains what just happened, Marill celebrates. The Marill jumps three times and spins with one paw in the air, with its tail slightly clipping through the Fuecoco. The clip concludes after Marill performs the same animation for a second time, which may highlight a loop that only stops when a player proceeds.
Many gamers have expressed their joy at Marill's reaction in One_Youth9079's video. In the Pokemon anime, Marill has been known to have a cheerful temperament since the introduction of Tracey. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet wild Pokemon often match the stature and performance of the anime Pokemon, but a sight like this is nonetheless rare. Gamers can locate wild Marill like this one near water in Cascarrafa, Los Platos, or the first area of South Province. A Fuecoco egg can be created by breeding Fuecoco, Crocalor, or Skeledirge with a matching Pokemon or Ditto.
Because there are nearly 400 other Pokemon that Scarlet and Violet players can interact with in the wild, Marill may not be the only one to have this reaction. It's hard for players to pinpoint exactly when a Pokemon egg will hatch, making it uncommon for one to emerge so close to a wild Pokemon.
